Ifrah Faiz was at home with sister and mother, when two rockets landed in her neighborhood. As paralyzing as this experience was, in that moment, she realized that she wanted to dedicate her life to helping humanity. Specifically, women who have been impacted by such horrific acts. Ifrah’s heart of service is about helping empower women to dream again – one step at a time.
She’s advocated for female Afghan refugees and female internally displaced people in camps, especially gender-based violence victims, women-headed households, and unaccompanied minors.
Ifrah’s extraordinary UN work stems from having big aspirations as a young girl. Her desire to work for women’s empowerment led her to join the Pakistan Air Force. She is the first female paratrooper from Pakistan’s General Duty Pilot branch.
